My theme for this project is different landscapes and in this project I am concentrating on urban landscapes and seascapes. This is interesting to do because we can see all of the differences between the two landscapes and I also hope to take images at different times of the year and day. For my initial research I am thinking of looking at photos and starting to create a gallery of some picture that would inspire my own work. The roots that I am going to take images of are different groups of photos such as skylines, agriculture, modern art and underground for when I go to London, But I know that I am going to be more interested in doing my Anglesey work compared to my London because most of my photographer (Charlie Waite, David Favrod, Aaron Yeoman) research will be on nature which I prefer. The photos I would like to focus on are seascapes, animals on the beach, crashing waves and sunsets. I will also try and capture the different shapes that will be a seascapes and loads of reflections from the water from the sun.
When I take these pictures I will be using the camera cannon dslr and I will be using all of the cameras techniques such a shutter speed, aperture, white balance. I will also be using it on manual because I will be able to sort out my own focus and I will also be able to change all of my different setting myself.
I am hoping to be more creative on this project with Photoshop because I feel like it more of an easy project to use Photoshop because I am going be able to make the colours in the picture more vibrant so that the picture will stand out more compare the pictures that I will first take, In this project so far I have learnt that we are going to loads of different place to take landscape pictures and also be going on holiday so there is going to be a couple of photos from my holiday on there, but if I was to be going London I would like to go at night because I will be able to capture different light landscape shots.
Photographers research...
David Favrod.
This is some of my photographer’s work I like because in my opinion they are simple some of these maybe photo shopped. I have picked these because they stand out to me more than any other photographer I have looked at.

Charlie Waite.
This has to be one of my favourite pictures by this photographer because it shows the light ad dark in a picture so for example the clouds looks dark and misty and the ocean is bright and see through, my eyes are draw to the setting of both the cloud and the sea colour how one is bright and the other is dark this could be showing he has used Photoshop and he has made a different contrast between both of the clouds and sea. In this photo he looks like he needed a fast shutter speed to get the water still so that it would be a perfect picture, this kind of links to my work because when I went on the boat in London I have a picture of the canal and the sky so there for I can do something like this on Photoshop to make my work much more better for the viewer to see and so they can also see it from another perspective. |
Ideas for London.
This is my landscape photography unit, I have been London to take some pictures with my class and I have been able to take some good pictures to improve my work as a whole, so I have some areas I have been working on while I was in London...
Skylines
Architecture
London underground
London Underground.
Aaron Yeoman~This is one of the photographers work I have looked for inspiration off because it is linked to the underground photography and it seems like some of my photos are linked to his in a way.
Skylines.
Berenice Abbott
I have been looking at this photographer because I like the way she has been using black and white to make her work more effective and I have been thinking that I am going to be creating my work like this on Photoshop because since I am not so good at Photoshop so I going to play around with my black and white contrast to see how well I can change up my photo.
Modern art
Old buildings.
Photoshop.
My own work over the summer holidays.
Over the holidays I went to Benidorm and while I was there I took some pictures for my landscape project and I like the project and I like the project I finished with because I have good colours in my pictures and I also thought about when to take them so I could get a good finish.
Photoshop...
Anglesey
I think I need to work on my Anglesey pictures, instead of my London landscape photos, the reason why I have decided this is because I prefer more of a seascape because it is more of a different landscape what I normally see in my day to day life...
To create my work on Photoshop and think of different ideas to do and make sure I show the reader how I have created my work.
Pete Barnes
This is my photographer that I am going to be concentrating on because he seems like he uses Photoshop to create his work because of how vibrant the pictures are so he had made the pictures more colorful to look at and all of the pictures I feel like my eye lead onto the sky because he has created many different colours, but also all of his photos seem to be quite misty to look at so he has possibly took on a cold day/night this is a good effect because he has took it in various different places and lighting. On the first picture of his work it seems like he has use rule of thirds because of the mountains in the background of the photo the seem to be in the lines of the rule of thirds grid, this makes it more effective because you can see the bits where he wants you to focus on.
In my work I am not going to be working on colours on Photoshop I will be choosing different photos that possibly link to his work, but change the colour to black and white because when I use black and white I find it to be more sophisticated and more eye catching. Along the way I will be thinking of different things to create to get my work to a high standard.
Crashing waves.
Best Worst
This is my best picture because I have used a fast shutter speed to capture the waves crashing against the rocks, but I also like how it is dark and grey in the sky because I feel like it makes the picture quite dark and when I first look at the picture my eyes get set on the crashing of the waves and also the way the waves come in. |
I don't like this because this day it was really cold so the camera kept fogging up, it also looks like my photo was out of focus and I wasn't using a tripod to keep my camera straight so I feel like that really affects the way I take my pictures. |
Photoshop.
final product.
My photo shopped image didnt work because I wanted to make the sea more black and white to see if it would give an good effect, but because I cant the picture to go darker so I have to leave it at that but I and going to try and look at other pictures to see it I can do the same thing but with other picture
More photoshop.
Calm water
Best Worst
I like this picture because I like the way the sun reflects on to the sea, So I found this a good day to go out because I had no cold wind to mess about with and the lens didn't freeze up on me. but I also like how nice I have captured the sea. |
These is my worst even though this is a good picture it isn't linked to the seascapes. |
